Remembering the World Trade Center Tragedy

Posted on 11 September 2008 by Radu

Once again, we remember that tragic event that took place in New York on 9/11/2001. It is hard not to remember how the whole world, literally, was in shock…
When the attempt happened, I was in Romania in the army. Along with some friends, we turned on the TV and could not believe our eyes. First, I thought it was a joke or some sort of movie. Soon, we realized it was reality and could not believe it. How could something like this happen? Our base entered into an immediate state of emergency. Although, we were thousands of miles away, we felt the shock. That day, the world became a new place. We were forced to deal with things we never wanted to think existed.
Who can comfort humanity, as we remember the 9/11 tragedy? Who can comfort those who lost dear ones? In some mysterious ways, tragedy tends to bring people to God. The American nation, moved closer to God after the World Trade Center tragedy, but only for a short time. Today, as the American nation and the world remembers the World Trade Center tragedy, I pray is the day when the hearts of people everywhere would be convicted that we humans are fragile and we need God.
