Since I work with both high school and college age students, I am always looking for relevant materials. The transition from HS to college can be very hard. The challenges that come with being in college take many christian students by surprise. This book is an excellent gift for any HS student. You can get it very cheap at: www.christianbook.com

Product Description

We all have choices, and the choices made in college shape the rest of our lives. So how can students prepare for the academic, social, emotional and spiritual challenges they face? Knowing the struggles that come from peers and professors, Alex McFarland will help students prepare by asking and thinking through the big questions that, if defined, make wise decision-making a way of life.

You are part of a culture that spends more money each year on pornography than country music, rock music, jazz music, classical music, Broadway plays, and ballet combined. In Paul’s day, he accused some people of worshiping their stomachs as their god, and in our day it appears that our god has simply moved a short distance south.

“Porn-Again Christian” by Mark Driscoll is a frank and honest discussion on pornography and masturbation. This free book can be read online or downloaded HERE.

Before we go we decided to read a book about missions. The book we decided to read and talk about is Bruchko by Bruce Olson. This book talks about what happens when a nineteen-year-old boy leaves home and heads into the jungles to evangelize a murderous tribe of South American Indians.

What is the best gift we can give a student when he/she graduates from youth group/HS? Since statistics show that most students leave church after they graduate High School I believe it is important that we give good and thoughtful gifts to our graduates that would help them in their decision making/struggles. One such good gift is a book by Lee Strobel, “The Case For Christ”

Few years ago, my pastor and his wife decided to purchase “The Case for a Creator” for each of the seniors form our youth group. I was somewhat skeptic that any of them would read it. To my amazement, I have heard some of them talk about reading the book and how good it was.

Lee Strobel is a great writer and he has solid arguments in his books. Personally I believe that each Christian should read “”The Case for Christ“, “The Case for Faith” and “The Case for a Creator“.

How many students are leving church after HS graduation? Following are some of the most cited studies (www.conversantlife.com):
