My dog had a stroke. I have never had a dog who experienced a stroke. Not having any information about stroke in dogs, my wife Tracy and I started reading and researching the symptoms our good dog had… immediately. The more we read about stroke in dogs, the more we realized it was somewhat common in older dogs like ours – he is almost 14. We were however encouraged to learn that some dogs recover. Based on the information found, we learned that dogs who experienced a stroke should recover in about one week.
